Financial Controller required to manage the finance team of a trade association based near London Bridge -£50k. Your new company One of the UK's leading trade authorities- this organisation have a number of subsidiaries with a commercial element. Your new role To manage the finance and accounting activities across the Group and leading on the audit process. Providing forecasting, planning and reporting of financial activities for the Group. Overseeing and authorising the monthly payroll for the Group, in addition to reviewing and implementing policies in line with best practice. The Financial Controller will manage a team of 6 including Credit Controllers, Assistant Accountants, and a Purchase Ledger Administrator. Responsibilities:Production of timely management accounts reports for the group companiesManaging weekly and monthly financial activities, including forecasting, planning and reportingManaging finance and accounting activities across the groupReview journals and final GL balances including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accountsLead the audit process and prepare statutory accounts for the GroupRecruit finance personnel in line with delivering objectivesPrepare cash flow statementsSystem Administrator for internet bankingSystem Administrators for web based expense system (ACloud) and Focal Point (organisation will provide training so previous experience not required)Control of payroll and Group defined contribution pension schemeReview and authorise monthly payroll for the GroupPrepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, as per special method from HMRC on partial exemptionOther group returns - FCA, etcAttend and present monthly management accounts at SMT meetingsConducting appraisals What you'll need to succeed Proven familiarity with UK GAAP Accounting standards, and best practiceAccredited accountancy qualification - ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA essentialDegree in finance/accounting/ business/related discipline - or equivalent professional experience desirableStrong staff management What you need to do now Please apply ASAP to be considered!Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
